About Us

Hey there, I am Neha Gupta. I am a dentist by profession and an artist at heart. My fascination with nature began in my early childhood.

When my classmates derived happiness from glittery new compass boxes and school bags, I connected deeply with the beauty around me. I liked gazing at trees and their beautiful crowns, trunks, and branches.

As I started collecting tree components, I wondered if I can help these trees express their uniqueness. Hence began my love for creating.

Soon I started using the raw material that other people considered as waste (think book covers, aluminum foils and the like). I didn't know if this was an art form. I just knew that my perspective of looking at nature and waste is different. It was as if nature spoke to me to represent its characteristics. And I loved helping it.

Looking back, I realize my creative sense was a teensy bit amateur. My intensity of playing with different shape, size, and color of raw material now is leaps ahead. But I always had fun with whatever material was available nearby me.

What's amusing is that every portrait I've created subtly derives pieces of my life. If you look at my work, you'll see objects that were available around me at that time. For instance: During my dentistry education, I've used wax and Plaster of Paris for making wax flowers/keychains. Recently, when we shifted to a new house, I used the wood waste (leftover from house construction) to make frames.

I feel that my portraits and other work represent the progression of my life. With a keen eye, everything I create will give you subtle hints into whatwas happening in my world then.

What's more?

I am proud that every piece I create is unique and can't ever be mass produced. The material I use isn't engineered to perfection.

I am not trying to achieve precision and create a portrait to have a particular effect on anyone of you. I don't have sparks of ideas at 3 AM in the night. Rather, I look around and let objects/nature guide me towards my art. And I trust them to allow my juices to flow.

Would you like to share my experience of viewing the breathtakingly beautiful nature through a different angle?

I promise it's uniquealluring and even enlightening.
